It was during Justin's college years at Virginia Tech where he developed a keen interest in garment construction. During spring and winter breaks, he spent most of his time learning the rudiments of pattern making and shoe making in small independent factories in Korea. His thesis project was aimed at developing a sustainable method that would reduce fabric wastes from worn out clothing while Justin constructed two distinct bags of his own—one from a worn out ski jacket and one from his mother's old leather trousers. After graduating with an industrial design degree, Justin worked at Lululemon for two years. His tenure at Lululemon was where he gained new insights into fabrics, retail operations, and product distribution cycles.

Demure Angel® explores androgynous silhouettes designed to be embraced by all genders. We aim to dissolve the boundaries between menswear and womenswear, creating pieces that move fluidly beyond convention. Each item is produced in limited quantities by independent manufacturers in the Republic of Korea. Our inspiration draws heavily from the raw, unrefined nature of the 90s through the early 2000s. "Imperfections are what make perfection" is our guiding motto.
